Weekend socks + dover street market

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Warm weekends shorts and socks aren’t really made for each other.  So this weekend I opted for invisible socks to accompany my trip to Dover Street Market with Sock Girl.  Invisible socks aside, I did manage to pick up a nice new pair of turf-green socks in Paul Smith on Albemarle Street.  I’m a big fan of Paul Smith’s style – not so much his end product all the time – and enjoyed their attack of the killer sock window display v.much . . .

Jack Spade + Hospital

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

The Hospital Club (Covent Garden London) is great for early morning coffee to start the day.  So, here we are SPOTTED my lax pair of stripey Jake Spades @ the Hospital Club 4th floor bar ACCOMPANIED BY my blue Prada’s.  My Jack Spades are definitely socks for relaxing in.  Their fairly loose fitting and thickish fabric mean they’re a perfect casual sock for a Friday or a weekend . . .

Invisible socks

On hot days socks can be – well – hot.  So today I’m SPOTTED wearing Pantherella’s invisible sock range, to help cool my feet in a fairly unseasonably warm day.  Invisible Pantherellas are definitely recommended for the warmer climate ; – )

Sick socks

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Grrrrrrrr – illness has finally hit the Sock Man, so today it’s a case of SPOTTED a pair of rather sad looking grey UNIQLO sports socks chez nous in Brixton.  Sports socks are a funny breed of socks.  I don’t normally wear sports socks, and now I know why as they’re not particularly well cut around the toe area i.e. they don’t have hand-linked toes, which means that they don’t hug the toes terribly.  Though that didn’t really matter today as I was mostly moping around the flat feeling sorry for my sniveling self ; – (

Jack Spade’s in Yorkshire

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

The Sock Man is now back from the US of A, and is taking some well earned rest with his family in Yorkshire.  So it’s a case of a pair of stripey Jack Spade socks SPOTTED in Raskelf (Yorkshire) ACCOMPANIED by a shiny new pair of Diesel trainers.  I reckon Raskelf’s never seen a sock and trainer combo like it before!

Ski socks SPOTTED Vermont

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Ski socks are never going to be the most elegant of things.  I’ve opted for a simple pair of grey Snow and Rock socks SPOTTED on the (empty) slopes of Killington, Vermont.  The killer thing about ski socks is they should protect (against rubbing) and be not too thick – otherwise they tend to rub and also make your feet cold (as the sweat collects and turns to ice in extreme temperatures :-(
